My Profile:
http://www.mattstefanfishing.com/
I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I’ve been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I’ve qualified for ten MLF Championships and won almost a million dollars in tournament winnings at the professional level.
Funny you should mention the "mud" rain. Apparently it fell all over the area and according to a local meteorologist was due to the dust storm out west that had migrated into the regional atmosphere. Didn't know you had boat problems. Sounds like that front connection needs some waterproof shrink wrap.
Great attitude.
All I would be thinking about is the classic.

Hang in there Matt, If it makes you feel better I broke my kill switch Monday and couldn’t get my big motor started and had to troll 3 miles back to Ramp from Gardner creek off of the Roanoke .
You know where that is .
I did catch 10 Large mouth and 7 weighed over 3 pounds
Here's a trick from Great Lakes charter boat captain. Clean and filet your drum. Cut into chunks and drop into salted boiling water for 3 minutes. Serve with melted butter and you'd swear it was lobster. Serve with cocktail sauce and it tastes like shrimp! You'll thank me later…
You'll bounce back big time Matthew!!
I would think now with the array of accessories and batteries on a boat today, a compact digital multimeter might be a good thing to carry on a boat…
I had a trim relay fail on LOZ during similar wavy conditions. NOT FUN!! Hoping you hammer em next event!!
Thanks Matt great video on your Bass master tournament good luck the rest of the season
…recognize how Blessed you are to have the opportunity to compete in the tournies you do…
check this out Matt… keep a strict mental diet of thoughts you need to win…
…YOU CAN DOMINATE THE FIELD WHEN YOU GET YOUR MIND RIGHT…
Ugh.. tough one for sure..ONWARD
Sorry to hear about the problems you had on the water.
Stay Safe & God Bless!!!

Bummer. Good story but sounds like the short circuit, short circuited your tournament.
You are getting past the bad luck ! Good days are a head for you . Start slow end strong!
Those conditions were tough for sure! I just featured the new core tackle scamper rig in this weeks BPC update! Check it out!
Great recap. Man, KY was a rough one for me too. Good luck at the next one!
Thanks Matt, Love crank bait days
bad luck Matt. Better luck next time!
Hang in there! Still rooting for you!
Ive caught a few Drum myself cranking. And when you hook up with one it gets the heart pumping then when your fishing on a place that 7 pounds is a big fish and the one you have on is a 12 pounder it takes the wind out of your sail. Good luck on the next tournament
Love the video. You always tell is straight know matter the outcome. Keep it up bub.
Hang tough
As a local (Dallas area) I can totally sympathize. The wind in prime time early spring season through spawn tends to BLAST like crazy. It really sucks. A lot of guys fight through it but I self launch and just refuse to deal with it. I'm old now. WIll retire in another year then I'll never fish another weekend ever again unless I want to and be much more selective on wind friendly days. Sorry the tournament didn't yield any fat bags.
You really beat the drum on day 2. Haha. Rooting for you.
I think you're due for another huge tournament that will turn things around. It's a credit that against the odds it didn't totally stink. The pendulum is about to swing in your favor!
Thanks for sharing. I'm an Ozark guy. Speaking Berkley cranks. When would you use Dime vs. Money Badger?
Good luck on the next one Matt!!
Tough day! Sorry to hear, but you can get back in it.
The “mud rain” you had was dust from the high winds of West Texas and Arizona. The dust/sand was picked up by the low pressure front and carried to the East Coast. We all had the same “mud rain” in Richmond, VA. The weather folks covered it here on the news
Just keep grinding

Sure was pulling for you.Hang in there
