This past weekend was the Cincinnati Kayak Fishing Cowan Lake Bass Tournament. I was sure I had good plan (starting in the campground cove lilp pads and creek and hitting the main lake if that didn’t work), but the fish didn’t cooperate. I fished hard, covered a lot of water, tried a ton of different lures and presentations, and I ended up with only two small bass, finishing 19th out of 54 anglers. But every time I’m out on the water I learn something, and I had a great time out on the Lynx and back at camp with my CKF buddies.
Congrats to the winners!
Thanks Cincinnati Kayak Fishing for running this awesome trail!
Thanks to Strictly Sail & Kayak in Cincinnati for being huge supporters of the kayak angling community! A family-owned business since 1978, they have a big selection of kayaks and all the rigging accessories you need to go chase the big fish!
Good Video
I caught a nice bass off the bank in the spring using a strike king jerk bait years ago at Cowan lake. Most people at the lake was trolling for crappie. I only been there once.
My favorite is Kiser Lake. Try natural shad color swimbait when you go there. Buckeye Trail tour finals there in October
Tough but you having fun that matter.
You look happy fishing. You worked hard for those two bass and avoided the skunk so I commend you for that. Your Lynx looks great and the new 360 camera is very cool. Is that the go pro brand? Also, have you ever tried throwing a Zoom Z Craw? It is a very versatile soft plastic that can be texas rigged and can cover the entire water column. Florida bass sure seem to like themπ.
Looked like a good game plan to me. Just gotta get them fish on the same page. hehehe. I'm so glad you take the time to show, and enjoy, all the natural beauty around you.
Melissa, it sort of relates to that idea. That always comes up in these tournaments and lakes.
You mind checking our small channel out would mean the world to my dad and I.
Another great video π looking forward to the next one
You did an awesome job on the video and fishing. You kept changing and searching till you found what was working. As far as the lily pads sometimes it's just timing of the day when the fish will move up and turn on in the lilies.
Heck yea awesome video!! Enjoy the gear checks!
Looks like you have it your all on the kayak! Beautiful place to be fishing and paddling, thanks for sharing!
You did what you could. Many of us struggled that day. Really enjoyed the video! Keep them coming
You gave it all you could and took us along…congrats on that and thank you! You're an inspiration!
