The Berkley choppo does a really good job too, ive had tons of luck with them. Only complaint i have is the blades are not very durable, ive had some break off when fishing near rocks and docks

I recommend the $30 lure (joe Bucher top raider) simply because up north here it gets you more fish in general not necessarily bass but fish are fish, however, my favorite plopper has to be any of the lake x lures ploppers

I have a Whopper Plopper and a Heddon Torpedo (from Walmart). I've had more luck with the Torpedo on smaller ponds. On the Lakes, I go with the WP.
