In southwest Louisiana, there are tons of fishing spots. There's Big Lake, aka Calcasieu lake and a huge bunch of waterways connected to it. Ship channels, bayous, rivers, creeks, marshes, etc. Then there's the Sabine Reserve for fresh and brackish water, then Bundick Lake a little farther north, a nice freshwater lake full of crappie, catfish, bass, and stumps. Plus Toledo Bend and the Sabine River are also great spots. I can point you to a dozen good areas as well as some epic little fishing shops anytime you come through.

You should come up to northern Michigan and fish the traverse City/elk rapids area. The dam in elk rapids has world class smallmouth fishing.
