?! Did you just say you paid $80 for a SURRENDERED Oscar!?! Wow, did you just get ripped off! Those things are FREE all day long. I understand for your purpose the bigger the better. But Oscar’s are tank busters that are mistakenly purchased by unprepared hobbyists CONSTANTLY. So the bigger they are, the LESS they are commercially worth. They should have given you that fish. At MOST a $20 rehoming fee.

Tbh love the quality of fish but i dont like seeing price tags of common fish being so high 80 bucks for an adult tiger oscar is crazy especially when ive seen adult color morphs like albinos that were 13 to 16 inches for 30 to 45 bucks at a local pet store.
