Bass fishing for smallmouth is tough. This is how to catch more bigger bass, largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Fishing challenges are fun using Barbie poles and rods and reels, and Pokémon lures, but we target big fish and show you how to catch big bass. How to catch smallmouth bass is the focus and I fish during all conditions. Fishing summer fishing winter fishing fall fishing spring fishing ice ice fishing fishing cold cold water warm water I fish it all. The Googan Squad and Kickin Their Bass TV and Milliken Fishing and 6th Sense and BassFishingHq and Randy Blaukut and Fish the Moment all like to fish for bass, but I teach bass fishing too.

  1. Sweet video Ben. It was cool living up north last year and watching all of these transitions play out. Those dark patches hold fish as soon as the sun hits them through the ice!

I like to target those dark spots (signifiers of early season weed growth) up until Late May in NoMich. Simply because they retain the most sunlight and allow all the larvae to hatch earlier.

I'm super excited to apply a lot of the stuff I saw to my patterns this year. Good work!

  2. Question kinda off the topic of this vid but hoping to get your input. We have been using 10# pLine cxx on our crankbait rods for several years. Has worked well but thinking about changing it up. Debating about going with braid or some other mono, or keep as is. Would appreciate your thoughts. Enjoy all your vids. Very informative. Thanks

  3. Some of the best fish is at ice out on St Clair it’s good all spring but ice out gives a window of low pressure fish . I caught my biggest smallmouth on St Clair in March 22 inch 6.5 pounds hog

  4. Man, I love when a smallmouth destroys a jerkbait, suck a wonderful feeling, well now I need that to happen soon, this ice better melt quick! Great video!

  5. I’m still drilling holes. Might be time for a road trip. What’s your take on draw down lakes that may not see full until May. We have a lake that’s 10 feet low but always comes to full.

  6. Good to have you posting content again Ben. Looking forward to a good season of open water fishing and fishing content from Mr Ben Nowak.

  7. Great tips and the satellite views really bring it visually to show where those warmer waters and currents may be. Now we just need the ice to give up that open water for us to get at them smallies here on LSC!

Jerkbaits and especially slow moving swimbaits do wonders for me on the flats. Well done man, thanks for another great video!👏🏻
