The best spawn bait without a doubt is a Rapala Floating Minnow or Floating Jointed Minnow hardbait. Cast it to the shoreline, let it sit till the ripples disappear, then very slowly slow roll it 6 to 10' ft from the shoreline over the beds, then twitch it good just once… BAM…! They can't resist, they just HAVE TO HIT IT…!
