  1. Maybe the UAE needs to do there own bass series I mean shoot they took over the PGA with great pay outs
Call it the royal bass masters
Hang on I’ll give the prince a call

  2. I am a recreational angler, but I love watching the pros fish. I agree with you. The elite fisherman should be using skill, not a video game. Maybe someone will come up with another circuit where it's skill only.

  3. The Problem with B.A.S.S. it has been sold to many times! it's now a BIG business to make money and the thought is "if you don't like it go somewhere else"! I for one after 40 plus years, has canceled my membership 2 years ago over FFS! I have fished 2 top 100s in my lifetime and they were memories I will never forget! B.A.S.S. IN A SAD STATE!

  4. Got up and went fishing this morning like i do 4 days a week, and none of this bothered me at all. Bottom line if you don't like the situation, u r in, change it, or deal with it because fussing about it does nothing.

  5. I completely disagree with this take. How can anyone call themselves an angler and a fan of the sport, but at the same time be ok with the gatekeeping that is “tournament fishing”. Those entry fees prevented people across our nation from ever competing. If you are not sponsored, then forget about it. Entry fees will financially ruin you. But thats no longer the case. Now its an even playing field, average joes can participate and possibly win a major tournament that would otherwise never been possible. With this diversity, we will see who’s actually an elite angler or whos just got good sponsors.

I pray this change happens across all of major tournament fishing and leagues.

  6. I've been a member of BASSS since 1969. You're right that the old guard were the ones that made professional bass fishing. As the old guard got older, of course they tended to rest on their laurels. This became really evident when FLW came along. Even you switched horses as many others did. Unfortunately, BASS learned nothing from the old FLW. Probably because they folded. THe other big problem is the old guard taught the new generation nothing,

  7. Randy, could you pick up an old BassMaster magazine and show what the pay out structure was in the late 80’s and early 90’s. And explain the lower entry fees for the average working man to have the ability to chase there dream. I think Bass needs to simplify this and go back to its roots.

  8. my guess is they are weeding the field….what easier way to just have rich kids watching their screen and no oldies but GREATS making waves in their world (literally and figuratively)

  9. I am very disappointed in this and I really really want to see a change because I am still young I am 16 and I want to be able to keep watching bassmaster growing up but I don’t like the way it’s going. I saw a video that Tyler Berger made about what bassmaster could potentially be paying the anglers and I really think bassmaster needs to take a look into that video. Now maybe it isn’t the best way but at least take a look and maybe get some ideas going

  10. I’ve always heard the anglers say when they win a tournament it’s not about the money it’s the trophy , so I guess it’s about the money now. I don’t think back in the day the old timer’s made a living off any winnings

  11. So, what is Randy and Cliff going to do now when they left MLF to go back to BASS on the legends exemption? Please explain Randy.
These no way to win every single tournament which it looks like the only way to make money.
Once again, you know the old saying, there’s no such thing as a free lunch. 😂

  12. Who cares….. really. get with the times. Nobody makes their living off tournament winnings. It’s all about sponsors and mostly YouTube…. Bassmasters still puts out great shows.. people will still watch…. Pros will come and go… The show will still go on…

  13. Maybe this is bassmaster's way of trying to get the anglers who have the huge investments in their " cheater box" to eventually drop out because of the small payouts. Then they can restore B.A.S.S. as you would like to see it. It's a long shot, but just maybe. 😊

  14. Pro Bass fisherman sound like the WNBA players complaining about pay but they will not accept the realization that nobody is watching and sponsors are getting tired of carrying them. If you are not happy with payouts then go start your own circuit and show everybody how it's done.

  15. hearing anglers say they are now trying to figure out what jobs their wives might need to take because payouts have dropped, is rich. I believe everyone should follow their own life paths, but I can’t help but feel less sympathy for pro fishermen that think this way. It seems they’re their own worst enemies. Pro Fishing will never be MLB or PGA level. Those who can catch fish and land sponsors will do well, while those who catch fish but struggle with sponsorship will get by. But anglers who can’t catch fish and can’t attract sponsors are likely to be left behind. kinda like culling. Remember that not everyone deserves a "participation trophy" in a competitive sport. Anglers need to fish to win, adapt and prove their worth. Maybe they should take that $45K they were going to spend on entry fees and hire a social media expert, like many of the top guys do. It’ll be interesting to see how everyone adjusts to this new reality.

  16. at some point you need to pull your head out of your ass and realize Scott, Hendrix, Cobb, etc are there any more! they have become what Desoto are to the current automobile industry. bassmaste is so stupid they don't realize they are stupid!

  17. It would be nice if you provided a little visual aid with your math. The way I see it every pro is $45,000 ahead since they no longer will pay entry fees. I think I got that entry fee amount from you, so if someone qualifies for the classic and only made 3K, they actually made 48K from not paying entry fees. Also, you said the majority are rich so what does it matter? Every day guys will never be able to fish the circuit, we have real jobs. It is only a dream for most. Maybe take a look at the average angler from last year and deduct 45

  18. The BLUF. The corporation is making decisions based on their own self interests, their bottom line, and are trying to exploit the fisherman (their product they are treating like they own them).

  19. Total agreement! I was at the elite tournament on fork this past spring, some of the guys are still driving 2006 and 2012 silverados and ford excursions, hooked to 100k boats! You can tell that if it was easy to make money they’d all have new tow vehicles

  20. Ben milikin said he made 117,000 in 24 that's not taking out anything but under the new 25 no entry fee if he finished the same he would only made 35 for the same performance and they say it's performance based well I will say no it's definitely not
