During early September, when the weather is mild ,and the bugs are mostly gone, I took my friend Travis Ellingwood into the backcountry Wildlands to discover a lake that is virtually untouched by the public. After some gnarly portages and paddling upstream for hours we found camp and found enough time to fish for an hour before the sun went down. This trips purpose was to get boots on the ground to see if this trip was even worth it or possible.
