Have you tried bass fishing with topwater, in the rain? Do bass even bite in the rain? Today I am out bass fishing with a topwater popper. I am fishing from the bank on a rainy day hoping to get a bite. The fishing is a little better than I expected, but still challenging due to the heat. I miss one bass near the dock. I nearly catch another bass in front of a tree near the bank. Then after making my way back to the car, I finally catch a nice largemouth bass on topwater. I catch it casting parallel to the bank. I think the same fish may have gone for the popper twice. If you end up bass fishing in the rain here is a tip: maybe try topwater. #topwater #bassfishing

I tend to have my most successful frogging days in overcast conditions with light rain. Just chuck a black frog out there and wait for the fireworks!

When I’m fishing top water near banks and docks I always have a second rod with me with a soft plastic stick bait or speed worm. When a blow up on top water misses I follow up with the worm and almost always get the hook up.

Alex – ya can't tell me that being outside, even in the rain, and hearing the bloop bloop of a popper wasn't just as good in and of itself as dragging in a fish.
