I fish in Indiana. I to am a bank fisherman. I use Quantum baitcaster reel's only. I have not been skunked in 3.5 years. Being 63 years old. I started fishing at 5 years old with a Zebco 202. Now I can look at the wind speed, clarity of the water, what time of year and is it cloudy, rainy or bluebird skies. Barometric pressure is a big plus to know. High or low. Hell, Even the time of day and moon phases. You can help your self to catch more fish. By knowing these thing's. Just at the end of April. Cloudy skies, wind gushing to 25 mph from the south to the north. The bass were pilied up on the north side of the lake. I caught 17 Largemouth in 17 casts. It's called a Flurry. They were caught on a Z-man original Chatterbait. White and CHARTREUSE with a White StrikeKing swimbait trailer with the leg's dyed Garlic CHARTREUSE 1/2 oz. It was liked shooting fish in a barrel. Have many combo's in your vehicle ready. One doesn't work. The next one may just be the one. Good luck to all bank fisherman. Think ahead, look at the signs and have fun. Shawn.
I am a riverbank fisherman here in Fredericton New Brunswick..I have a Quantum smoke rod and smoke S3 baitcaster with 7.3 with Sufix Siege mono 10lbs and 14lbs on my other reel.

If you're bank fishing at a lake with a sticky bottom, fish soft plastics. Your wallet will appreciate it.
