Afternoon Pre Spawn Bass fishing (Homestead Dam) South Africa

In this episode of afternoon bass fishing I head out to a dam called homestead dam. The dam is located in Benoni just of Atlas offramp.

I started the day target bass in shallow water. I needed to see if there where any staging bass or even spawning bass that I could get all riled up to eat my soft jerk bait. The jerk bait was a 6th Sense Flush in water melon red and it was paired with a weight hook. I didn’t get lucky in the shallow water with the jerk bait.

Time went by and I switched over to a 6th Sense Stroker craw to see if I couldn’t make pin point casts on ready made beds where the pre spawn bass are gonna be. The stroker craw got was an effective bait to use because you could leave the bait on the beds and this would drive the bass crazy. I was lucky to catch that bass on a bed and I had released the fish safely and it swam right back to its ready make bed.

The day went on and I had no luck with catching anymore fish. It was a very interesting day out. Spoke to a few other fishermen and they had caught a few fish and others didn’t.

This Dam is very interesting and I would really like to catch more fish out of homestead dam in the future.
