I Tied On Grandpa's Old Mouse Lure And Caught A GIANT!

Of all the memories I have from growing up fishing with grandpa, watching him catch bass on this Shakespeare Swimming Mouse is among my favorites. On this trip I decide to tie on his old mouse lure and see if I can catch them like grandpa. It ends up being a day I’ll never forget!

  1. This is what fishing is about. The sentimental weight in the video is huge. I hope to have a grandchild someday that will honor me in the way you have honored your granddad (:

  2. You are quite literally the BOB ROSS of angling. You're calm demeanor is soothing and keeps me watching all of your videos. This one, in particular, hits close to home.

  3. Can't say that your grandpa isn't still with you that proves he's watching you have the time of your life congratulations man πŸ‘ I can't break over 5 and a half pound's just can't do it but sure won't stop try awesome πŸ‘

  4. Big cool. Thanks for sharing. My sister recently gifted me so lures from my dad and grandpa’s tackle box and now I’m going to take them out one more time.

  5. From start to finish, this video captures what fishing is all about. THE classic amongst a couple dozen Ndyak classics. All the rest of your vids are merely great.

  6. Been watching you for years man. By far the best fishing channel I’ve come across. I watched this video when you first posted it and I’m back again. Bringing a tear to my eye with you using your grandpas lire

  7. Like so many other viewers have commented, I got misty eyed watching this video of you catching your personal best bass on your grampa's old mouse lure.

It brought back treasured memories of my grampa teaching me and my brother how to fish and watching him catch lunkers with his, now vintage, top water lures.

Thank you so much for making these videos. Your calm and casual style of fishing that emphasizes the experience of being one with nature, rather than conquering fish, is exactly what I want to see. You've been an influence on me, as I've taken to simplifying my weekend fishing trips in Wisconsin's smaller lakes.

Now, I use a canoe and a paddle, bringing with me only two poles and a small box of lures. I target mostly bass or pike, but will sometimes get plenty of enjoyment just jigging for panfish. But even if I don't catch anything, I'm still happy to be on the water taking in the sights, sounds, smells, and feel of being on the water.

  8. Currently watching my 8 yr old son die of cancer. Will never get to share these moments with him, will never get to be grandpa. Life has lost all meaning
