The EASIEST Trick To Catch BIGGER Bass Right NOW!

Want to catch bigger bass this year? There is one simple change you can make with your baits that will immediately increase the size of fish you catch! You don’t have to fish different places or different times of day. Its easy!

The Shaky Head worm catches a ton of bass in Spring and Summer! If you’ve ever tried one you know exactly what we’re talking about. However, the finesse jig is more likely to catch a bigger bass overall than the shaky head. If you want to start upsizing your catch without changing your routine, its as easy as cutting off the worm and tying on the jig.

Below you’ll find links to the exact shaky heads, jigs, and jig trailers we use during the Spring and Summer. We’ve also included some of our favorite rod and reel combos for jig fishing. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

  1. I watched this video a couple of months back. Last Saturday I got on an AMAZING shakey head bite and kept telling myself I would eventually switch to a jig to target larger bass. Welp.. I never did it because I was having too much fun catching numbers 😂 caught 27 in 6 hours and the biggest was only 3lb 7oz.

  2. Tim, you mentioned putting a graph up front on your jet boat. I fish from a kayak because I too like skinny water. I think I’m scaring fish. When/where should I turn off my sonar in shallow water? And if I usually fish skinny, do I really need a graph?

  3. I love fishing but I fish a pond with trophy size bass and giant pike and trout and a whole bunch of other fish but I need a you to make a video with like 30 different good baits for ponds because my pond is very picky angler fisherman fished it for hours and nothing so these videos REALLY help me get the fish thank you for the vids.

  4. Dude! You and Tim are the best combo instructors ever. You with the power fishing and Tim with finesse. Been watching for a while and even though it’s “just fishing” I learn from you guys consistently and boy do I appreciate it. I’ve been a bass fisherman most of my life and your videos have helped refresh me every season. You guys rock man. Thank you for all your efforts!
For me (NE Kansas) when things get tough, the straight tail worm saves the day every time.

  5. Feels like a silly question but I can’t seem to find an answer…. How does a finesse jig hook a bass in its mouth? Doesn’t the stiff material that makes it weedless get in the way? Clearly not, finesse jigs are incredibly successful lures, but how is that hook getting penetration behind or through the weedless stalks? Thx u.

Edit. I should have read the comments before posting mine. So the weedless stalls flex out of the way! Not sure I’m envisioning that but gotta go use it and have faith. Ok then. Thx.

  6. I'm on it now! I can't wait to get to Kentucky! I managed to buy the arsenal below and am gonna slay em all! Hahaha! Thanks for sharing the tips, Matt!

  7. I personally enjoy watching you guys out on the jet boat, it's more relatable to the common fisherman. Not surprised about the transom on your champion….only downfall of champs is their transoms, they had issues for years and with you hanging a big ole' heavy 4 stroke doesn't help matters much. Regardless, they're fantastic boats and I'm glad you're getting it repaired….did they put an aluminum plate in there? Pretty common fix along with coosa board to really strengthen it up.

  8. this is probably off topic but can you do a video or a topic on crazy colors around the spawn like bubble gum, white, sweet potato pie, solid chartreuse, i never caught any fish on these colors but I don't know if the only work back east… please help on this crazy topic…ty for all the help over the years matt and tim

  9. Great video Matt! I've always struggled with a jig but I'll tie one on next time the bite is hot. Any idea where I could find a Tranx 301ahg? Been looking for one for a lonnnnggg time.

  10. Went fishing with my friends yesterday one friend to nothing but jigs all day he didn't even get but one little bite, I threw stick baits, lemon pepper worms two or three top water baits a couple of different spinners and even just a hook with a bobber and worm I caught two 1 lb bass my other friend was throwing worms on bobbers and trying every lure he had in his box and he caught two bluegill.
